TBC Manila Design House is the tiny creative studio of Mao and Camille del Rosario. Together they write, design, strategize, illustrate, and direct.

Camille del Rosario

A creative director with 11 years of experience in brand design, copywriting, graphics, marketing strategy, illustration, packaging, and project management. Early advertising experience gave her insight into the workings of global brands in fast food, airline, banking, and other major industries. However, she feels most alive, and most at home, in the bustle and buzz of small to medium businesses. It’s her delight to help local businesses blossom in a fast-changing competitive economy.

Camille is the house writer and design lead.

Mao del Rosario

Mao is our resident director of photography and video producer. He began his career in business and finance, as a financial accountant, IT security and operations auditor, and business advisor at some of the country’s largest publishing, telco, BPO, and accounting firms. At 22, he founded a manufacturing business that quickly scaled from five to seven digits in size… and years later, his taste for professional and creative adventures prevails.

Mao is the house digital and business strategist and director of photography.

Meet our agency partners.

At TBC Manila, creativity is our core competency: words that pack a punch, visuals that speak volumes, and brands that are stories unto themselves. We work with fellow agencies like Bambu Agency and The Troops that offer e-commerce business building, digital marketing, ad campaign management, and more in the APAC and beyond. With this collaborative, synergistic approach, our clients are positioned to get the best possible results.

Studio Philosophy

  • We seek the kind of authenticity that changes the game. Beyond trends, we ask: What will bring success to our clients and value to everyone touched by their marketing funnel?

We swim hard to keep our heads above the bullshit. It’s not easy, but we wouldn’t be us if we didn’t try.

  • Marketing is a grand experiment. We encourage brands to participate in the data-driven noise-making party. Don’t be shy!

We shout into the void with joyful, but calculated, abandon.

  • As passionate artists, writers, and researchers, we know the “rules” enough to rewrite them for you when needed. Advertising norms and standards are ever-changing, and small as we are, we’re drivers, not back-seat passengers.

The madness behind the method — that’s our job.

The story of The Black Cat.

Yes, it stands for The Black Cat, and yes, we started in Manila, Philippines. Two business-minded creatives working side by side, Mao and Camille’s separate careers grew very naturally, and inevitably, into a working creative partnership.

Our first attempt to register our studio as a business abruptly fizzled out when the pandemic lockdowns hit. When we recouped, TBC was born. TBC, mainly for The Black Cat we lost in 2020, but also for the things we can’t help but keep doing, “To Be Continued.”

In 2023 the team relocated to Zambales, half a day’s drive north from Manila. We still have the west coast sunsets we loved in back in the city, but they’re a lot easier to enjoy from here.
